When I unwrapped this cable I noticed a strong, vile chemical smell - charateristic of similiar cheeply made items I've seen. My suspicions were confirmed by the fact that it didn't work at all. The female end would not make the positive "click" that you expect when joining it to another cable, and it would not connect electrically despite several attempts at re-plugging and twisting. I got another one at Radio Shack for about the same price. It was much better quality and worked fine.
