this is a great product, i used this for my PS3 RCA cables to my speakers and its wonderful. What i did is use my LCD monitor as a TV for my PS3, i bought a HDMI to DVI for the video and this product for my sound, and boom i got HD gameplay and watch Blu-Ray Movies in 720p.

If you use a PS3 or XBox360, you can pass the audio signal through the component cables. With this adapter, you can plug in computer speakers or headphones into your console.

I'm only getting one channel/speaker working. Tried different computer speakers and headphones and same results. Kind of bummed, but glad only a couple bucks were lost. Contemplating purchasing another or just taking the one I have and finding it locally where I can have a floor salesmen show me that my second attempt at buying this won't be wasted. I'd like to note that both inputs do work(stereo) as I can tell through the single speaker. It's just the fact that the stereo signal only comes through one speaker and not both when outputted through the 3.5mm. Even if "mono" is stated, the output signal should still come through both speakers. "mono" and "single channel" are not the same thing. My guess is I got a faulty adapter, as it seems so many are happy with their purchase without mention of only one speaker working.

i got a HD monitor not to long ago that i can play my ps3 on with an HDMI cable.
however there is no output for the audio to go to my speakers so i had to use the monitor speakers for sound which was terrible.
when i used this i used the hdmi for the video and the av cable for audio.
this item has stereo.
the bad thing about this is that the inputs aren't red and white, theyre yellow.
so u wont be able to tell where the two plugs go in
but how u can tell is by plugging them in, then listen to ur music on which one is left and right.
i used blood brothers by papa roach, u can tell from the very beginning which is left and right.
but other than that its a great item.

Like another reviewer I'm using an HDMI to DVI adapter to play my PS3 on my computer monitor and using this RCA female to 3.5mm male for audio. The product says mono, I kicked myself when I realized after ordering however mine works as stereo, it's just unlabeled you have to test this yourself to figure out which is left and right. (I did it via mp3s I've had for speaker tests)
Some people in comments have said they only get a mono, so I guess it's by chance too. Anywho it's not a big loss if you don't get stereo considering how cheap this is. With that being said, I also didn't notice any sound loss but I am not an audiophile.
