The 3.5mm cable lets you connect a PC sound card, portable CD player, MP3 player, iPod(R), or any mini-stereo audio device with 3.5mm jacks to your other audio devices. These cables feature two 27-gauge Oxygen Free Copper conductors, a drain wire, an Aluminum Foil Shield to reject noise, and Gold plated connectors to ensure a quality connection. Connectors: 3.5mm Stereo Male to 3.5mm Stereo Female. Fully molded connectors provide strain relief. Foil shielded to prevent unwanted EMI/RFI interference. Gold-Plated connectors.

I ordered 2 of these as extension cables for my PC sound card. (Headset/ Mic)One was fine but the other must have been shorted out and caused a constant hum in the headphone or feedback on the mic.
